2.2  Thought language

Do you think language? Yes, and I mostly do this in Dutch, while my mother tongue is Turkish. This is because I happen to be better at Dutch than Turkish. I haven't yet caught myself doing this in English, which I think is a shame. If you think in English, this can only improve your English even more and it shows that you are really involved in the language.

I think thinking is faster than speaking. You always say a lot more in your mind than you actually say out loud, but this could also depend on what language you're thinking/speaking in. For example, you know the way you feel and you think about it, but when someone ask about your emotions and feelings, you find it hard to come up with the rights words. Sometimes we also say things, which we end up regretting in the end. This is because some people tend to really quickly say what they think. This happens to me too, which is not always a good thing.
